UNESCO, in collaboration with seven major international organizations, has launched Globalpolicy.ai, a new portal that serves as an entry point to the global artificial intelligence observatory.

The platform is designed to support Member States in developing governance frameworks for artificial intelligence, ensuring that rapid technological advancements contribute to the protection of human rights and the promotion of sustainable development.

According to Tawfik Jelassi, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information, the portal is a key tool for guiding the responsible growth of AI in an increasingly complex global landscape.

Globalpolicy.ai provides access to data, research, use cases, and best practices for the general public, policymakers, and decision-makers. It also acts as a neutral hub that brings together resources from multiple international organizations, highlighting the importance of global cooperation.

The initiative brings together partners including the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations, and the World Bank Group.

Through this collaborative effort, UNESCO and its partners aim to promote the ethical, inclusive, and sustainable development of artificial intelligence worldwide.
